My first post! What motivated me to adopt a tripawd.

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Diana, and I am the new mother of a beautiful 4 year old German Shepherd. This is my first time ever having a gsd AND my first time with an amputee. When I first laid eyes on Ilene, I new right away she was going home with me. She has these beautiful eyes that were full of so much pain and loneliness. I made it my mission to change that. Before I decided to fill out the adoption paperwork, I took her out to the park right next to our humane society and ran around with her and just laid in the sun, soaking up its rays. The next day, as soon as I walked into her kennel run she was up at the kennel door wagging her tail, so I did what any other mom would do; I snuck her in some treats! I’m not sure what the future is going to hold for us, but I know it’s going to be filled with love and laughter, and doggy kisses.  I don’t have much else to say just yet, seeing as I just filled out the adoption paperwork today. But once she’s able to come to her new home, you can bet your bottom there will be more to hear! I hope you join me on this journey!

Do you know why she became a tripawd and how long ago? Do you know how she ended up at the rescue and how long shes’s been there?

You’)ll find tons of ways to help support tripawds to stay healthy and fit on three in the forums. Also check out the e-books and Loving Life on Three.

If you have hardwood floors, you’ll want nonslip scatter rugs for traction. Raised food bowls are helpful to prevent straining. Joint supplements are also a good way to support limb health. Anyway, just throwing out a few tips.

We are soooo thrilled you are giving this beautiful girl such a loving and caring home! She just won the Puppy Lottery!! Gice jer a big smooch for us!

  4. Awwww my heart is just sooo hoppy! Congratulations on finding your beautiful girl (great name!). She is just pawfect.

Don’t furget you can get her evaluated by a canine rehab therapist and the Tripawds Foundation will pay for it! See:

We’ve found that having a relationship with a rehab therapist has been so helpful in keeping our Wyatt Ray healthy and strong. We hope you’ll take advantage of the program.

Can’t wait to see the adventures you have together.
